JUSP Statistics for a Single Title in KB+

KB+ and JUSP are continuing to collaborate, work undertaken in our recent release is a step towards further integration around the area of marking up core titles.

From our focus group several people asked for the ability to download JUSP statistics for a single title and this has been added to our list for possible future enhancements.

In the meantime our Technical Authority and User Functionality Lead, Owen Stephens has shared a work around which allows you to download the statistics as a CSV file.

Owen has written a ‘bookmarklet’ – this is a browser bookmark that instead of taking you to a specific page can instead carry out a function on the page you are currently viewing. In this case the bookmarklet creates a csv file containing the JUSP statistics. It will only work when you are viewing a ‘Issue Entitlement’ page with the JUSP statistics displaying.

The bookmarklet and instructions on how to add it to your browser are available at http://demonstrators.ostephens.com/kbplus/jusp-stats-bookmarklet.html

See below for a short video demonstrating the bookmarklet

Changes to the blog

We have made a few minor changes to the blog which we hope will aid navigation and ensure our support documentation is up to date.

With the introduction of our new user guides we have reviewed the pages within KB+ Support & removed duplicate information. We will continue to update and add to these guides providing support for key functionality in KB+.

Our screencasts are available on a single playlist either from the User Guides page or from the Links section

Our new quarterly newsletter is available from the ‘Links’ section

We have reviewed and updated the categories (listed to the left) to group together relevant blog posts, for example we have a category for KB+ Releases which lists all the blog posts relating to new releases in KB+

KB+ 4.1

With a new release comes a number of fixes and new functionality, including some of those identified in our focus groups early this year.

Some of the main changes for 4.1 include;

Renaming ‘Manage’ menu to ‘Institutions’Sceen shot Institutions menu

In renaming this menu we hope this helps navigating KB+ and locating necessary information easily. From this menu you can search across KB+ as well as go directly to your subscriptions, license etc.

Multi-Year Package and Master list

There will be one title list (package) for the duration of multi-year deals this will be updated as titles join or leave the package (eg title transfers between publishers). For these packages you will no longer need to follow the renewal process of uploading a new list each year which we hope will save time and help reduce confusion.

We will be updating the title list as information becomes available; addition of new titles, adding ends dates and coverage notes for title changes, cessations and transfers. In 4.1 you now have an enhanced view of these title list allowing you to see titles have been removed from a package and which are expected to join a package. As previously we recommend subscribing to the announcements and dealing with ‘To Dos’ as they arise in order to track all changes.

ONIX-PL Licence Comparison
Under the ‘Institutions’ menu you have the option for ONIX-PL Licence Comparison, you can pick a primary licence as the basis of the comparison, then compare one or more other licences. The comparison compares all parts of the ONIX-PL licence and includes the ability to display the relevant licence text and annotations.

We will be updating our help documentation and adding new user guides shortly.
