Monthly Webinar – eBooks

In this months webinar we are looking at eBooks in KB+.

We have only recently starting adding eBook packages into KB+ and this 20 min recording covers:

  • The type of eBook packages currently available in KB+
  • The level of eBook information available in KB+
  • How to record an eBook subscription linking to a title list and licence
  • How to export an eBook title list from KB+
  • Which eBook agreements we are looking at next

Investigation of training needs

You are invited to participate in a survey that forms part of a research project investigating the training needs of current and potential KB+ users.

The research is being conducted by Jo Alcock Consulting on behalf of the KB+ team.

The survey asks about your training needs as well as asking for feedback on current training materials. The full survey should take no more than 10-15 minutes of your time.

The survey is available at https://www.surveymonkey.co.uk/r/kbplustraining and will remain open until Friday 10th February.

Monthly Webinar – 2017 title lists

This is the 10th in our monthly webinar series looking at how you can use KB+ to compare two title lists and identify additions and deletions.

Monthly Webinar – Licence Comparison Tools

This is the 6th webinar in our monthly webinar series, today we are looking at the two licence comparison tools available in KB+. The comparison tools allows you to compare licence properties across 2 or more licences. For further details please see our Licence Comparison Tools userguide.

Monthly Webinar – Renewals

This is the 5th webinar in our monthly webinar series, today we looked Renewals. The renewals process in KB+ allows you to create a new subscription based on an existing subscription. It is useful to complete this process when subscriptions are due to expire in order that you have the correct title list for the duration of your subscription.

  • how to add expiring and forthcoming title list to the ‘basket’ in order to generate a ‘comparison worksheet’
  • identify usage statistics per title from the comparison worksheet
  • identify additions and deletions within a package from the comparison worksheet
  • edit and uploading the worksheet to create a new subscription
  • navigate existing subscriptions to view ‘previous’ and ‘expected’ titles

This is the 4th webinar in our monthly webinar series, this month we are looking at the various tools available in KB+ which allow you to compare titles lists to help answer queries about what titles have joined/left a package, overlapping titles etc.

Monthly Webinar – Subscriptions

The third webinar in our series looks at how you can use KB+ to record, manage and track e-resource subscriptions.

Monthly Webinar – Licences

We ran the second in our monthly webinar series focusing on different areas of KB+ and this weeks topic was licences.

Following feedback from the community we have worked on improving existing licences functionality as well as introducing new features and this webinar attempts to cover the range of tools now available in KB+.

In this webinar I show:

  • How to add licences to your KB+ account, by copying from the knowledge base or adding a blank licence
  • How you can edit the key properties table within a licence to add your own properties
  • How to link to a subscription from the licence
  • How to search across the licences including filtering by properties and export this information
  • How to use the Licence Comparison Tool – comparing ONIX-PL licences
  • How to ‘Compare Licences (KB+ Licence Properties)

Monthly Webinar – Titles

Last week we began our new series of monthly webinars, which will run on the last Wednesday of each month, focusing on different areas of KB+.

In this webinar I show

  • how to filter to a list of titles within a single subscription which could be useful if you need a title list for a specific package.
  • how to filter down to single title and from easily view the usage stats for that title, the licence terms, coverage etc.
  • how to export the list of titles
  • how to check if a title is available through 2 or more packages
